Master Data Validation

Master data represents "data about the business entities that provide context for business transactions". Various categories of master data required in an organization like customers, vendors, products, items, locations, work centers, fixed assets, employees and financial structures (COA, posting groups, dimensions, tax etc.), terms and conditions etc.

An organization need master data to treat transactional processes and operations. It is only contained within transactional data and is not housed separately.

All aspects of an organization, operational and analytical, are dependent on the quality of an organization's master data.

To maintain quality and integrality of master data across transactions and ledger entries Master Data Validation add on impose restriction, validation and control while deletion and change values in master data.

FEATURES:

· New masters are created in Blocked option; means you cannot remove blocked restriction until you enter required field values.

E.g., New item is created with blocked option yes and you must enter required fields values like, Base UOM, posting details, costing methods etc. to unblock. It will eliminate errors while transaction and posting of document.

· Restrict deletion and change of code values from master if it is used in next level of master or in posted ledger entries. You cannot delete or change code values.

E.g., You cannot change / delete posting group code if it is mapped in customer card or code value found in ledger entries.

· Restriction in change and deletion of master data maintains relation between transaction documents and posted ledger entries. This relationship is required to maintain historical data and analysis report.

· You can enable change and deletion restriction for following masters.

· Financial posting groups, Bank and G/L related posting groups, Fixed asset, Tax and other finance related posting groups.

· Inventory, product, customer, vendor, Fixed asset, employee, Resource, Job related posting groups.

· Sales, purchase, service, job, production creation related masters.

· Masters required for Sales, purchase, service, job, production transactions.
